To directly copy your music to the system, find your iPod’s own apple cable or a suitable compatible cable. Beware of using any low quality cables for any of your devices as these may harm your device intensively. When you connect your iPod, you will have a menu pop up. Make sure that the enable disk mode is enabled in your iTunes. If your device type is iPod touch, you might not be able to use this feature. You will have to download appropriate application to change your device into disk use mode. This option will help you copy music directly to your iTunes.

Open my computer in your device and choose the iPod named as the removable storage. Enable the option to show hidden files and folders in your computer. Now you will be able to access the iTunes folder. Open the folder named iPod_Control and then find the folder named Music in it. You will actually find many kinds of random folders in it named all confusingly. Copy all the folders in the Music directory and save them somewhere in your computer. Your work with your iPod is now over. You can close the folders and eject your device.

Now it is time to extract all your favorite songs. You will need to open each of the folders and select all the files in them and move them to a new folder. To do this easily, create a new folder and keep it open beside your iPod folder. Just press CTRL + A and you will select all the files in a folder. Drag them to the new folder you just created. After you have copied everything, change the folder properties to unhide all the songs.

You will now have all your music in the same folder which makes it easy for you to export them into other devices.
